For centrally located Southern comfort food with your pooch, check out Art and Soul! They’ve got a whole mouth watering menu for you, and even one for you dog. Their “Pooch Patio Menu” features a 6 0z. “Hungry Dawg” steak, a non-alcoholic “Bowser Beer,” the “Gravy Train” portion of beef tips and rice, and more. Their most popular menu items are their mac and cheese, shrimp, and grits, so be sure to check out their people menu too!
With dog happy hours every Monday from 5-9PM during the summer, Cantina Marina is sure to get both you and your dog excited! During dog happy hour they feature margaritas, $2 beer, and corn dogs available for purchase as well as complimentary water bowls and milkbones for your dog. It’s located on the water around the Southwest DC waterfront and is sure to be both a fun and beautiful place to enjoy the evening.
Qualia Coffee has ample space for you and your pooch to sip and munch in peace. Featuring a front porch and a backyard area, your four legged friend is sure to enjoy spending time with you while you enjoy their quality “Fresh Off the Roast” coffee. They’ve got complimentary water bowls and a tin of treats for your dog too!
4. Shake Shack
The Shake Shack’s got tasty treats for you and your playful pal! Here you can enjoy classic American burgers, fries, and shakes and your dog can enjoy some doggy biscuits or Shake Shack’s own “Pooch-ini,” made from biscuits, peanut butter sauce, and vanilla custard. Shake Shack’s got three locations in the Washington DC area, so you’re never very far away!
Looking for a nice place to spend a Saturday afternoon with your dog this summer? Look no further than The Argonaut Tavern. Bring your furry friend and enjoy a refreshing drink during their dog happy hour from 12-5PM on Saturdays (starting in the warmer months). The Argonaut’s dog happy hour features dog treats and water bowls as well as half priced hush puppies for dog owners! It’s a great place for a Saturday brunch, as their cheese grits and bottomless mimosas are truly first rate.
Just outside of Washington DC in Alexandria is a great place to go for a popsicle with your pooch. The Dairy Godmother features not only Wisconsin style frozen custard, but also two flavors of “Puppy Pops,” in banana and pumpkin, made with plain yogurt, peanut butter, and either pumpkin or banana. They also have “Squirrels” for your dog, tasty baked treats made from spent barley malt. While they are super dog friendly, the law says no dogs are allowed in the shop. They request that you stay outside on their comfy blue benches with your four footed friend and enjoy your treats together!
