1. American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog

Just 20 minutes outside of downtown St. Louis, is where this little gem can be found. This is one museum that has undeniably gone to the dogs.  The American Kennel Club Museum of the Dog has the worlds finest collection of dog art: over 700 paintings, drawings, sculptures, and prints can all be viewed in this one, dog friendly location. This 14,000 square foot facility is dog-friendly all days of the week, and both water and dog biscuits are provided. Once you and your pup have taken the museum tour together, you can head outside and venture around on one of six different trails that cover a 569 acre Queeny Park. What a great place to visit with a group of dog loving friends- especially if the weather isn’t supposed to be great.

2. Soulard Dog Park

The Soulard Dog Park has an association- The Frenchtown Dog Park Association to manage it, and they work to ensure that all dogs have a secure, fenced in, open space to romp. They encourage PetParents to come out and socialize while their dogs do- for neighbors to get to know one another. It’s one of the largest dog-friendly parks in the city and is open from 6am-9pm daily. The Frenchtown Dog Park often holds events and pet friendly activities. This area of St. Louis is home to many dog friendly restaurants, cafes, and boutiques making it an incredible place to spend the day in St. Louis with your pup by your side! Regularly scheduled events include: Christmas photos with Santa, Bark In the Park events, Top Dog competitions, Waggin Watering Hole days, and many other fun events are held here annually.

3. Take your Dog on the St. Louis Walk of Fame

While this isn’t actually a scheduled event tour- it’s one you can take on your own time, and at your pups pace which sure is nice! The brass stars and bronze plaques are embedded into the sidewalks of the Delmar Loop in St. Louis. These stars honor people from St. Louis who have made significant major contributions to our Nations cultural heritage. The stars showcase the name of the honoree, while the plaques provide history and background to deepen understanding. Each year, copies of the Walk of Fame books are donated to the libraries of all the St. Louis metropolitan junior highs and high schools so that students may use them for projects and enjoyment. The St. Louis walk of fame provides examples of role models across all walks of life. The St Louis Walk of Fame is free & open year round, and books can be purchased for additional enjoyment.
