How much attention do you pay to your dog’s paw pads?
During the summer time, the sidewalks can be rough (and hot!) on your pup’s paws. Extra walks and outdoor time can put wear and tear on your pup’s paws too. It’s important to check your dog’s paws frequently during the summer to ensure they stay in tip top shape.
If you notice dryness or cracking, that’s the key for you to intervene. There are plenty of great paw salves on the market which will moisturize and nourish your dogs paws. In a bind, several types of household cooking oils will work too: olive, coconut, and calendula oils are all safe & gentle.
If your dogs paws are bleeding for any reason, it’s time to see your veterinarian for advice and treatment!
