- A new study conducted by the University of Maryland, funded by the WALTHAM® Centre for Pet Nutrition (WALTHAM®), showed that dogs can actually help lower our blood pressure.
- The study focused on people over the age of 50 with pre hypertension or mild hypertension.
- University of Maryland Professor Erik Freidman whom conducted the study was positive about what this can mean for individuals with hypertension, “this study enhances our understanding of the potential positive impact of pet dogs on the blood pressure of individuals with hypertension.”
So if you need any better reason out there to get a dog, than get one to help lower that boiling blood pressure after a long day at work!
